To the statement-"can't prove whether or not I exist; I mean I think I do, but couldn't it all be an illusion, or what if I'm just a program is some giant mechanical rig, a 'matrix', if you will."
-According to Descartes, being able to doubt yourself implies that you exist. If you don't exist then you can't doubt yourself.
